Sustainable Development

“Our common future”
The word sustainable development holds great meaning and responsibility for society, generations, and other elements in the environment. It refers to the way of achieving development goals in such a way that it ensures the optimum utilization of resources without any wastage and also preserves the resources for the future perspective of growth and development.
According to David Suzuki, “sustainability is about preserving the essence of life on Earth, not just conserving resources.”
The concept of sustainable development gained prominence in 1987. The industrial development enabled one to think over the environmental situation that resources are limited in nature and also essential for development purposes, so it is required to prevent them from getting exploited.
Sustainable development requires a holistic approach, focusing on economic growth, social inclusion, and environmental protection. This involves implementing various measures, including promoting renewable sources of energy, sustainable transportation, waste reduction, and responsible consumption. Additionally, it's crucial to prioritize environmental awareness, resource management, and quality of life improvements.
Being a concerned citizen, irrespective of position in society, whether individual or group of individuals, is our moral responsibility to assure that our action must be on the side of sustainable development in order to safeguard the environment from getting exploited. At a global level, affirmative action has been taken into consideration to achieve the global sustainable development objective in the form of the G-20 summit and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal [SDG].
Since it is not possible in one day but we will accomplish it one day for sure.
