東洋エンタープライズ社(Toyo Enterprises)のミリタリーレーベル「Buzz Ricksons バズリクソンズ」のウィリアム・ギブソン・コレクションのM-51モッズコート(モッズパーカー メンズ ミリタリージャケット)です。
M-51パーカーは第二次大戦から発展してきたプルオーバー型のM-48パーカーを進化させたもので、朝鮮動乱の寒冷地において主に米陸軍章将兵に支給されました。この戦地は米軍がかつて経験した事の無い寒冷地であることから、通常の装備の上から着用するレイヤー(重ね着)システムが採用されました。袖口は、密封性を高めるためのラバーストラップアジャスターベルトが内蔵され、ポケットの袋地には保温性のあるウール素材が使用されています。最初期型(1951年)のシェルは厚手のコットンサテン地でしたが、1952年以降のモデルでは、コストの見直しや軽量化を図って、コットンナイロンのオックスフォード地に変更されました。
この製品のシルエットは、オリジナル同様にすべて装備の上から着るオーバーコートとしての着用を前提として、かなり大きめに仕上げられています。そのため、普段ご着用のサイズより1サイズから2サイズ下のサイズをご検討ください。
本体素材は綿100%のヘビーウェイトコットンバックサテンです。高密度に織られたハリとコシのある頑強で肉厚な生地です。生地表面には横線が入った様に見える、ムラ感・スラブ感のある独特の風合いが特徴の丈夫な生地で、ミリタリーらしい無骨な表情ながら、しなやかな着心地も併せ持つ生地です。また、縫い目のパッカリング(縫い目のシワ、縫い縮み)が程よいオールド感とヴィンテージ感を醸し出しクラシックな印象を与えるコートに仕上げられています。
オリジナルのM-51にはボタンで着脱可能なライナーが附属していましたが、本製品の内側にはライナー用のボタンが再現されていますがライナーは付属しておりませんことを予めご了承ください。中綿が詰められていない一重のライトアウター(薄手のコート)なので、軽い羽織りのアウター(コート)として、主に春先から秋口まで年間を通して、幅広く着用できるアイテムです。
フロントはジップアップで、ジッパーには「クラウン」ファスナーが使用されています。
フロントは、ジッパーと、その上をスナップボタンで留める比翼(ストームフラップ)仕立てで、風が侵入してくるのを防いでくれるつくりになっています。ジッパーのスライダーには平紐テープタグが付けられ、バイクのグローブなどをしていても開閉がしやすくなるようにされています。
フード裏にはスペックプリント入りのコットンポプリン生地の裏地が付きます。フードには、スピンドル(丸紐)が通され、絞りを調節できるようにされています。フードスピンドルの通り口にはレザーストッパータブが付けられています。
腰周りへのフィットのためにウエストに付けられたアジャスターコードは邪魔にならないように内側に装備されています。さらに裾裏にもドローコードが通され、絞りを調整できるようにされています。
フロントには隠しスナップボタン留めフラップポケットが設けられています。フラップポケットは、雨水、ゴミ等の浸入を防ぐようなつくりになっています。また、ポケットの袋地には手を温めるために保温性のあるウール素材が使用されています。
袖口は、密封性を高めるためのラバーストラップアジャスターベルトが内蔵されたボタンタブカフスです。
モッズコートの特徴的なデザインである、後ろの裾が長めになった「フィッシュテール」にはスナップボタンが付き、折って収納できるつくりになっています。
両肩に配されたボタン留めのエポーレット(肩章)、服を密着させ体を動き易くするため内側にに付けられた腰と裾のドローストリング(紐)、凍えた手を温めるためのウールの袋地、袖口開口調節用のゴム入りカフス等、M-51のデザイン性、機能性も再現されています。

This fishtail parka jacket is made in Japan and produced by Buzz Rickson ( Buzz Ricksons Buzz Rickson"s ) William Gibson Collection from Toyo Enterprises. The pattern construction of this parka is modeled after the United States Army classic military M-51 Parka (US Army M-1951 Mod Parka Coat, Mods Coat) with classic design, but this fishtail parka has been re-designed with the Buzz Rickson"s William Gibson collection own detailing, contemporary interpretation and modernize fit for a more casual look and fashion purpose. The original olive-drab colorl has been replaced by the symbolic black color of the William Gibson collection. The beauty of this piece is the balance of classic construction and modern updates from Buzz Rickson"s William Gibson collection. Made of 100% cotton heavyweigt, single-ply, unlined, non-stretch, tightly woven cotton back satin fabric. And this William Gibson parka features a frontal zip closure with storm flap, knee-length in front and dips to a longer length in back, snap up fishtail at back, fixed hood, two large exterior pockets and adjustable button tab cuff. This product is US and EU size. And this William Gibson M1951 parka is intended to wear as a Ultra Loose Fit just as the vintage originals did. This mod parka is a type of coat intended to be worn as the outermost garment. Outer shell : Fabricated from 100% heavyweight cotton sateen. Heavyweigt single-ply, unlined, non-stretch, tightly woven cotton back satin with a slubby and rough-hewn texture and rugged appearance and uneven surface from horizontal lines on the face of the fabric. It is high density and extremely durable. This cotton parka deliver the perfect combination of durability and natural softness for comfort. This item has a fashionable vintage feel and look.
Lining shell for body and sleeves : Unlined. And liner is not included in this product. No inside padding. Suitable for spring and fall seasons. Great for wearing mid-season or even in the winter with under heavy layering.

Types of garment closure (Placket type) : Zipper closure. Front Fastener from Crown Aluminum Spring Automatic Lock. Crown zipper with all-cotton zipper tape. The zipper is covered with a storm flap that fastens with snap buttons across the zipper. This design protects the wind from slipping through the front.
Storage : The mod parka has two large exterior pockets with flap closures secured by hidden snap buttons. Pockets are lined with wool pocket bags. The wool-lined pockets helped thwart the numbing effect on hands from the extreme cold.
Cuff type : Adjustable button tab cuff with inside elastic.
Hood style : The hood lined with 100% cotton lightweigt broadcloth. Fixed hood with adjustable draw cord that forms part of the outer shell. Leather tabs on drawstring on hood. A drawstring (drawcord) passes through the hood, allowing the aperture size to be adjusted.
Length : This fishtail parka is knee-length in front and dips to a longer length in back.
Other details : Snap up fishtail at back. Fish-tail back (Fish tail Fishtail Parka). Button down epaulets. Internal waist adjusters (drawcord at the waist) and bottom hem drawstrings to seal out the wind. Shoulder epaulets with buttons. *The original M-51 comes with a quilted liner, but liner is not included in this product.
